7th June: LUNCH AT  ST. ALDHELM’S

Our next 3 course lunch will be on Wednesday 7th June 12.30 pm for 1.00 pm. Vegetarian options are available. We are always pleased to welcome new comers. 12th June: DOULTING ARTS AND CRAFTS GROUP

At Beacon Hill Wood on Monday 12th June at 10.00 am, finishing about 12.30. We would like to invite any other artists to join us. (If fine, a picnic could be a possibility). Meet at main entrance (splayed entrance nearest to crossroads).

 

13th June: MESSY CHURCH

Tuesday 13th June 3.30 pm – 5.15 pm in St. Aldhelm’s Church. This is an event for parents, carers and children of all ages. Various crafts and activities followed by refreshments. If you would like to come or have more details, please phone Joy Lees on 880260 by Sunday 11th June.

 

13th June: SLWI

Indian Street Food with Sweet Cumin on Tuesday, 13th June – why not poppadom down to Cranmore Village Hall at 7.30 pm! Bini Ludlow of “Sweet Cumin” will be giving a demonstration on how to cook in the style of Indian Street Food.

Bini grew up in Bradford, West Yorkshire. She learnt traditional Gujarati cooking from her mother at the age of eight. She will be cooking ‘channa chaat’ – a north Indian street food dish using chickpea and potato. It is delicious, gluten free and perfect for a family starter or a sharing platter. She will also be bringing some of her curries which will be available for sale.

Subsequent meetings on the second Tuesday of every month at 7.30pm in Cranmore Memorial Hall.

Membership £39 a year or £4 per meeting for non-members.

 

 

24th June: DOULTING VILLAGE HALL FILM NIGHT

Saturday 24th June ‘A United Kingdom’ (12A).

Introduction and Q+A with our special guest, Simon Bowles, who was the Production Designer for this film. (Simon grew up in Doulting, and his mother, Gloria, still lives in the village.)

At 7.30pm in Doulting Village Hall. Doors open 7.00pm.

The story of King Seretse Khama of Botswana and how his loving but controversial marriage to a British white woman, Ruth Williams, put his kingdom into political and diplomatic turmoil. Starring David Oyelowo, Rosamund Pike, Tom Felton.
